    Re: 1996 polaris slt780

Yep, sounds good. If it's been sitting a while the numbers will even out after a couple heat cycles.

Re: Check out this cylinder failure. 720

SSssshhhh. Let's keep that on the down low. It keeps me with plenty of rebuilds to do through the winter. Besides..."I put some Seafoam in it and figured if I kept working the throttle that it...

DAMN! I wish we could give some to you guys. Most of our boat launches and half the parking lots are STILL under water! One big campground completely closed, the road to it is under water!

Re: 951 carb crank and balance shaft.

Best bet is to buy new or reman. Usually when a 951 ski gets parted out, it's because the engine gave up.

    Ya......cause they are VERY different.
  13. Re: Removing WaveVenture 1100 engine -- what else should I do once it's out?

That engine setup WILL NOT come out of the hole with the front cover on. It's easier to get the whole front hood/hatch out of your way to reach down and access the oil pump and stator cover bolts. ...

  15. Re: Removing WaveVenture 1100 engine -- what else should I do once it's out?

HA! Exhaust, carbs, front/stator cover, starter, then lay it over and remove the rubber vibration damper under the motor mount plate. Then.....it will just barely come out! The front cover...
  16. Re: Removing WaveVenture 1100 engine -- what else should I do once it's out?

Clean out the carbon from the starter and put fresh grease in the ends.

Also, have fun with that, pulling the 1100 from the Waveventure hull is a *****!
  17. Re: 95 Yamaha WaveRunner (WRA700T) Trouble starting

If you get a bit of running with the choke on then it dies.....push choke back in halfway and crack the throttle a little and try again. Sometimes in warm weather it's easy to flood one.

    Re: 1993 VXR Pro OverHeating?

The CDI tests are sketchy at best. Since you have spark and it will run......I'm leaning more towards a clogged up internal carb filter. Pull your fuel gauge sender and see if the floats are...

  20. Re: Stator/flywheel removal 2005 Sportster LE DI

No, removing just the front mount will NOT affect the alignment. Also, you don't have to mess with the mag cup or flywheel, the stator is bolted into the front cover. Unbolt the oil pump and lay it...

Re: 2000 Seadoo GTX Fuel Baffle Question

What's wrong with the old one? The soldering of the F1 fuse is discussed several places online and an easy repair.....and new floats are readily available.
The fuel switch is also 5/16.

    Re: Cause of Piston Failure?

Looks like a combo of oiling and fuel issues. Usually on the Yamaha 1200's they crease a check valve and loose fuel pressure on the one cylinder causing that. That's why we perform the 'balanced'...

Most common would be very fine debris packing into the internal carb filters or a busted waterbox allowing exhaust fumes into the hull.

Re: ISO kawi 1995 sts pump shoe

Pro Watercraft Racing makes a replacement. Or you can tape off the chip area and fill the backside area with epoxy to 'rebuild" it. Impossible to find a used one that isn't also already brittle.

Re: 1996 Seadoo GTX won't turn over

Yes, that's correct. Get a meter on the red coming out of the MPEM then push the start button.....see if the MPEM is outputting the 12v start signal.

  39. Re: 1992 Waverunner 3 help needed.....I'm stumped

Does this WR3 have a fuel gauge? If so then pull the sender and look in the tank for black debris. Many times on these old Yamahas I'm finding the fuel floats broken down. Then the particulate...

    Re: 2001 Yamaha 1200 SUV won't rev
