  • Anyone go from an six pro to a 2021 superjet?

Been out of the loop for 10 years and see the new 21 superjet! I’m wondering how it compares to a six pro or 96 superjet.
I would appreciate any input anyone has. Thanks!

It's going to feel like a bigger boat but have a lot more power with much smoother delivery. Quieter, no premixing. Should be able to find a use one for about 10k, most people are selling them with very little hours on them because they are sorta turds. The SXR1500 is money better spent but it's all about what youre looking to do.

I saw a new one at our dealer a year ago. It had no electric bilge pump. Big mistake in a stand up!

They are turds. The engine is a slug with little top end and the hull is somehow worse than a 650SX... The SXR 1500 has WAYYY more power and top end.

Interesting… I started with a 650sx… playful but my favorite hull is the 750sx with tubbies and a deep scoop grate, deep lean turns at speed, yet still slippery enough to slide around and have fun with…

And just like the 650sx with enough mods and time spent tuning you can make it into a decent ski.

Rodney Dangerfield working his new Yamaha Superjet, last weekend. I rode it a couple sessions and I have some initial thoughts. Since purchasing, Rodney's done a few tweaks to his ski: Rideplate Grate Exhaust mod Pole spring RIVA rear sponsons Throttle return spring removal These pics were...

You can find barely used 1500s for 6500-7k on facebook quite frequently. They are one of the best out of the box boats ever built, without a doubt. Never in my life have I seen a ski turned around so quickly and put up for sale than the new superjet. They are garbage, and without $5k of mods on them to make them rideable and competitve, they still won't keep up with a 1500. It's a biggin... but the size out of the water is deceptive... Once it's floating it looks much smaller, and they ride AWESOME

The 1500s are HUGE. They are barely a standup anymore.
Changes aren't permanent, but change is.

SXR 1500 weighs more than my Pro 785s, it's actually a bigger boat.

The Stock 4-Stroke 3 cylinder SJ does 55 mph and the SXR 1500 4 cylinder does 60 mph out of the box.

Both have the bottom end torque of the modern 4 strokes. They both pull hard and steady from Idle to WOT.

The SXR 1500 is strictly a Buoy Racing Machine. The Super Jet is more versatile as it is lighter and smaller.

The critical flaw in the new SJ is the small Intake Tunnel. This causes the Pump to cavitate, especially in the turns where Thrust is most critical.

55 mph is good speed anywhere. Most 2-stroke stand ups won't do a reliable pump gas 55 mph at any given riding spot. Most do 45-50 mph.

If you’re asking for opinions I’ll give mine. The new super jet is the biggest piece of ****e that has ever come out of Japan. I rode one on the Monday after WF at body beach and it was absolutely horrendous. The steering was so loose and sloppy that it almost had bump steer. Yeah I know sounds weird coming from a jet ski. The shape of the hill is so atrocious you literally cannot lay it over and get close to the bouys. So yeah it’s garbage. Plain and simple

I have a 2021 superjet with the riva kit / remap on it, its the same speed as my buddies sxr 1500 now and a lot lighter.
