  • NYC LONG ISLAND riding spots

Hi guys. I am finally up here. Taking a job in Oceanside NY. I want to bring up my Sea DOO GSXL but have no idea where to ride her. I'm from Tampa so down there it's anyplace you can unload is where you can ride!
As far as boat storage. I found a place for $800 dry dock and $300 to store my double trailer.
Before I jump into it, I need to know where to ride. If it's even worth it.
Any info would be much appreciated.
    -Frank

I'm not sure if you're on instagram but there's a page called Long Island Jet Skis. They post frequent videos of people riding and I'm sure you could find out a few spots from them. Good luck!

I lived in Oceanside. Bay Park is your best spot. Nice ramp. After you launch, hang a right go past Hewlett beach. Great marsh land during high tide. You can run them all the way up to Atlantic Beach bridge.

Just getting back into it this summer. We ride on the North Shore primarily out if Mt.Sinai Harbor and a few spots out of Riverhead . On the south shore moriches, patchogue and forge river.Just about anywhere on Long Island has great spots most is either finding a ramp that you can drop in a day pass or staying within your township. With covid 19 none of our surrounding townships are offering any ramp access to “out of township residents”Law enforcement has been really understanding this year with the dmv being closed and nothing done in person as for as paperwork is concerned.

Im also getting back into riding, im in Nassau County, LI. NY.

Building up my RN over the winter for next season. And building a stock SN SJ I've had since i sold my last SuperJet which was a modified SN SJ 650. I can't wait to try out the RN SJ 701 I bought with all the engine mods i had on my 650 SJ. B-Pipe, Girlded ADA Head, and the dual carbs on the 62T/61X motor for the RN SJ's.

Im going to stick with a 61X 701 with a single SBN44 for ease of tuning and reliability, plus it will be mostly stock engine wise besides a slightly shaved stock head for some extra compression. Im interested in seeing the difference between the two SJ's. The SN is a '93 and the RN is a '96 so same bottom hull (Pre- '08 Hull SJ).

Anyways I love surf riding and I also love carving up the turns in the Marsh loops.

Seems like you ride more out in thr Suffolk area and mostly North Shore, where im usually always at the Jones Inlet area, south shore Nassau county.

How does the north shore compare to the south shore for the stand up's?

I also picked up a clean '03 GP800R im getting ready for next season also, but i want to test drive it a few times this year after I figure out the no spark issue I'm having. But i have a whole E-box and Stator coming for spare parts and to fix this issue..

I like launching out of the Baldwin Boat Ramp on Atlantic Ave, by Island Racing Performance. BUT the 5mph zone area out to the Bay is wayy to long especially on a stand-up where it gets annoying lol. So now i just stick to the Freeport Boat Ramp over by the BJs where we have always launched our Fam's boat.

Lmk when you guys go riding, im looking for some riding buddies. PM me, I don't want to leave me cell number on here.

Re: NYC LONG ISLAND riding spots

I sent you a pm with my cell but as far as north shore vs. south shore, the surf on the south is a lot better for free ride.My son goes through the Moriches inlet to get out into the ocean. He built up a 750SX to go out with.Looking to put tubbies on the front to make it a little wider and more stable for landing big air.
The north shore is good as well just smaller surf but excellent backwaters you can only access during high tide.Similar to the marshy stuff your talking about.Being surrounded by water it’s just a matter of where you want to drop in.He has a small group they ride with but the ocean is a different animal in Terms of riding ability, endurance just getting out there if not launching directly into the surf which has its challenges and lastly you need a reliable ski to handle the abuse and keep you going obvioulsly.
Just ordered pole strap and hood tie down for the surf ski to cover all bases.
