Re: The 08 SJ "not actually a raffle ski" Build Thread
Test ride with the 14/20 skat impeller today.
It's scary fast, everywhere.
Crazy how easily it spins such a steep impeller and creates thrust.
Hit is nutz.
Midrange pull is insane.
Top speed is ridiculous.
Makes my Sleeperjet feel tame.
And it still has a stock CDI in it. Like I said, crazy.
Probably doesn't help that it still has a crappy stock ride plate...has a nice worx intake grate, but it clearly needs a better ride plate with the speed it Is capable of.
Power is crazy linear. Just pulls pulls pulls, from bottom to top, no matter when you yank the throttle. Even crazier is it doesn't even sound all that raspy, as I'm running the pipe pretty wet and now that it has the dual cooling it should have had for years.
Oh, yet it idles like a stock 701...that then has double the stock HP when you pull the little lever.
I don't know how Dave is going to ride this thing...other than the power is very predictable and controllable...not peaky at all, no flat spots...just always right there and ready to hit. And I'm sure a better ride plate would help...it's just a lot of ski for pretty much anybody.
