Advice on getting rid of bilge odor

    Hey guys,
My bilge has an oily odor, even if you leave the seat off for an entire week. There have been a few oil and gas spills which probably permeated into the hull. Do you guys have any advice on getting rid of the smell? Any special products? Thanks for any info.

There is a product available at automotive/marine stores called bilge cleaner.

you pour it in there and add some water, swish it around a bit,, maybee take a stiff bristol brush with a long handle and get in there and scrub a bit.. when done take the bilge plug out and hose it down..

be sure not to get any water near the intake or electronics...

should come out nice and clean and smell free....

i also put one of those dryer sheets in there tooo,, the smell is pleasant, but i put it in there cause it keeps critters like mice etc.... away

that should get it cleaned up..
ps. keep the drain plug on soo the cleaner doesent come all out... while u are cleaning it...

Just dump some dish soap in there and a gallon or two of hot water and drive around the block with your ski on the trailer. Rinse and turn on bilge pump. All clean and no more smelly.
