Bandit trailer with faded ID can't register.

Hi guys, im new to jet ski and looking forward to buy one real soon.
i just bought a 95 Bandit single jetski trailer today and when we were filling out the paper work on the title we can't get the trailer ID number. its written on a peace of paper stick near the front of the trailer but its faded so bad, i can only see blury about 3 number but doesn't know if that's the ID for the trailer or not.

my question is that, how many number does the Bandit trailer ID contain?
and is there any other way to get the numbers, so i could put it down on paper and register it to the dmv.

    thanks.

If you are unable to get the numbers off the trailer I assume this trailer has an owner see if it is on their previous registration. If not just make up your own numbers and then put it on the trailer

I had 2 bandit trailers - one was a 2003 and this is how the nunbers were laid out 5A4XJRJ1932000000 total 17.

The other was a 96 bandit it also had 17 numbers and letters but they slipped in an extra letter in the 10th position 4L2FPRJ15T2005000.

Also - if there is no ski on it flip it over and search for a vin stamped someplace - I always thought the decal was the only thing and you were doomed to homemade status without it. Others have posted that some manufacturers started putting dupe vins in other spots in later years so it is worth having a look.

thanks so much for the replies guys. I guess i might have to go with the 'home made', since i look everywhere on the trailer for another vin but i see nothing.

DOES homemade trailer need to be register ? if it doesn't i will just scratch the sticker off, or make up another VIN like GRSTEVEN said.
btw i live in North Carolina.

    thanks..

It varies by state - here in jersey there is no title but you have to register so they can milk you for the sales tax, every time the trailer changes hands, and so they can collect a fee every year for doing nothing.

In TN you need nothing - no title - no reg - no plate - nothing. Betcha can't guess where I will be living next year.

just in case anyone else is having the same problem i have found a solution. If you have that faded sticker that now looks like a mirror then I feel your pain I spent 2 weeks trying to get the lighting so I can read the faded sticker to no luck. SOLUTION: use a black light. I turned off all the other lights in the garage plugged a $10 black light in from Spencers and you could read the sticker from a mile away. Hope this helps some folks.
