    Kawasaki STX-15F or Honda R12X

I am in the market for a PWC and have narrowed it down to the Kawasaki STX-15F or the Honda R12X. Any pros or cons about these 2 PWC would be appreciated. I have heard that the motor in the 15F has a very wide power band especially on the lower end. How does the Honda turbo motor compare? Do the MAC chips for this motor perform as advertised?

Honda has great handling. And the Turbo is very strong between 10 MPH and 50 MPH. Most of your riding is between that range. So power is available in a instant. It is the "hole shot" or off the line they talk about with Honda is lacking. Unless you race in competition, you will not notice it.

They both hit zero to 30 MPH in about 2.5 seconds. That is fast enough. And from 30 to 50 MPH, the HONDA is the fastest on the market. With Average speed for a rider of 35 MPH....you right in the middle of HONDA's sweet spot.

I would say, try to ride each one or rent them if possible. Most watercraft stores allow for test rides. I don't think you can go wrong with either PWC.

Kawasaki what is would buy if I had to chose between the two. But I would buy an F12 if that was also an option. My son's R12 will beat a person up.

Great info, but you're missing a key ingredient. Many riders including myself, enjoy wake, large chop, or surf jumping. Torque and acceleration from 0-10mph is critical for these activities. Also, the 15F is $1-2k cheaper, and uses 87 octane gas vs. Honda's 91.
Second place is the first loser.

I picked up a 2006 Kawasaki STX 15F today. It hasn't hit the water yet, so I can't fess up any advice.

I'll give a review after a few rides. (or flights!)

15F... its NA vs. Turbo, drier ride, more agressive, cheaper from the get go, cheaper on gas and maintenance over the long haul, and you'll enjoy the torque more than you will the top end.

The stock Kawi 15F is as fast if not faster then a Honda with the Mac boost. I can't say enough about what a great ski the 15F is.

Why compare the 2 seater to a 3 seater? I think a better comparison would be the F12 vs 15F.

15f will have more top end by a few mph.
Holeshot will be a bit stronger.
It will use more gas than the Honda so I think it would be even on cost for fuel as the Honda asks for Premium.
Reverse on the Honda is on the left vs on the right for the Kawi.
Fit and finish is better on the Honda (IMHO)
The Honda has bow splash that will get you wet in moderater chop.
    The Kawi is drier.
The Honda is better riding in chop

All summed up in this thread: http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.p...hlight=15f+f12

Alot of other variables factor in as well. One important one is the dealer. If one is better than the other that factors alot into my buying decision.
