Bill Of Sale Forms
Does anyone have a good form for use as a "Bill of Sale" for a jetski?
I have a ski, I am selling to someone in Texas and I am in Kansas. Just want to make sure that I use a form that will work.
In the past I have just used a generic form, but Kansas is not very strict. What does everyone else use??
Thanks

Try one of these sites. The uslegalforms site has forms for the different states, but they make you pay $10 for it. I've used one that's almost identical to the one in the third link.

MB,
Just talked to one of the attorney's here at work and he said you shouldn't have anything to worry about as far as state vs. state laws. He said that since a bill of sale is merely a contract to sell item x for $y, there really aren't any specific laws that could be applied to it. As long as both parties agree to the "contract" then it's all good.

Cool Thanks for the info.
I did some searching online for forms. I couldn't find one I downloaded last year, but one of the links looked like the same form.
I found one from the Coast Guard (seemed to be overkill) and several others. I ended up just cutting and pasting one together that should fit the bill.
If anyone wants it I can try to attach it to the thread. I figure this is stuff that is probably useful for everyone.
Again thanks for the links, forms and info...

I decided to go ahead and post what I had. One is an example BOS, and I couldn't manipulate it to make it useful. Other than for reference.
One is the Coast Gaurd's Bill of Sale and is pretty cut and dry, but more than what I wanted.
The next is one I created from cutting and pasting of a few others.
Feel free to use it or make any changes necessary. I left some stuff on to make it more flexible.

be sure to check if it needs to be notarized.

If your state does not make you title the ski be sure to have the registration handy as the person who is purchasing it will need it to get regestered.

I included a place for the notary. Better safe than sorry. As for the registration, I have that, but it expired in 1999. Shouldn't be a problem!
