I agree with what you say i hope it doesnt happen
SBT will have to be careful as to what they do to make sure it doenst happen
this is a personal site where alot of people know each other and if it gets to comercial and run like that then another site will pop up to replace it

Hopefully this will not happen
SBT be careful how you handle it and i hope it works out for you

My other concern is that there is going to be a push to make sbt products sell and of course since you have brought the site that what you have in mind
whats going to happen to other people that dont agree
is it going to be like sea doo net where they just ban you ???

Not making any future predictions, but you saw the same thing basically happen with jetski.com when Inland jet purchased it and made it their own selling grounds. I haven't posted much on SBT for probably a year now due to time constraints, but from what I remember it wasn't nearly the heavy handedness that you see in other forums. It never seemed like it was all about selling SBT products either. They get enough unsolicited though well deserved promotion around here already.

Well Rob owned the domain name and there wouldn;t be ANYONE here if it wasn't for Rob's hard work.

Look at that jetskinews excuse for a site, do they get any traffic above whatever their 5 or 6 moderators are posting, desperatly trying to turn **** into gold?

So Rob's work oughts to be rewarded, stop thinking about what you will given in the following months, remember what you were given (for free) in the past years.

Things will change. I'm guessing SBT spent a nice chunk of change on this site, and companies only purchase things for one reason, TO MAKE MONEY. I'm not saying that's bad, as that is why companies exist, but there is definately going to be a large change on this site. With that said, it would be a HUGE mistake on SBT's part to make this community unhappy, as it consists of THOUSANDS of current and potential customers. Therefore, it would be in SBT's best interest to keep the site relatively the same, and i believe they will do just that.

Everyone just chill out. This didn't happen today, so far the only thing changed is the adult section is gone FINALLY---Rob was very close to closing it for a year or so so it was going to happen anyway.

Did you ever stop to thing that maybe some of the guys at SBT actually think PWCToday is good for the sport as a whole and they want it to live on instead of die a slow death? I'm not sure that was going to happen, but Rob has been doing this for 5-1/2 years now and it gets old.

This is THE site for organizing rides in the US, and pretty much the only site where you routinely get pro riders such as Mac, Joe Kenney, etc posting because they want to, not because they have to. Some members have donated money to help keep it alive, maybe SBT bought it to keep it alive and maybe even make it better with some new energy, new ideas, etc.

There are soo many ways to look at this, but most of them are positive if you just think about it. Be positive for 5 minutes of each day and see what happens, you'll be amazed.

IMO -
already closed a thread, granted it was crap, but it's closed. this could wind up being a bad deal for SBT, they can make a lot of friends or **** a lot of people off.
this forum was unique in that there was more free speech here then on any other forum. when commercial institute owns something, it becomes a liability - 11, like him or not, is a huge one, you might as well say censored or gone. if you think jesus is a **** ant or not.. that was a good thread, it's a problem now. these forums are used mainly by guys, and you put a bunch of guys together and that's what you get, turn it off, cry, argue back... whatever. it's free speech, sometimes it's "free speech for the dumb" but that's part of the internet and it's going, going gone on this forum.

watch and see - the good news is it's just like going to work, if you don't like it leave. there is always another place to go.
