Well I dropped the engine and pipe into the hull last night to see where I was at, it fits in there nice and snug. I'm going to yank it back out and grind some of the side wall down for a little clearance on the side and at the front I'm either going to try heating the tank and forming it or dent the pipe. Probably try forming the tank, sounds like a fun experiment.

    Thanks for all the ideas.

    Joe

heating the tank empty is fine, just get rid of the residue and keep it un capped.

Re: Blaster Mod Pipe in Square nose

I am trying to do the same thing on a square nose and wondered if this chamber could be hard mounted with custom brackets that I could have made from SS. I was not sure if hard mounting was even an option or is using lord mounts absolutely necessary
If you can't fix it finish breaking it !!

Keith, go with the lord mounts.... They exist for a reason. I tried the Blaster mod pipe on my SJ this summer. I did not have the upper lord mount bracket so I hard mounted it there and it just shook the bolts off in one ride. I did have the lord mount on the flywheel cover bracket and it held the pipe pretty well by itself. That's how the TNT chambers are run, with just the front lord mount.

Thanks Neil, the reason I asked is because when we were in Daytona in Nov. Paul from Magoos was going through lord mounts like crazy on his TNT chamber. I guess I might try making a special bracket for the top mount that will fit a lord mount and run a bottom lord mount also. Are you gonna make it to the MotoSurf???

Here's one in a round. Should be identical.

I used an angle grinder and just took off the ribs in that area. Of course, if you've reinforced, you've already done that.

Someone should start replicating/re-manufacturing those TNT chambers.
