Thanks for the photos!
I can’t think of where that bracket would mount up to on a 787 engine. Except for the external fuel pump. But given the thickness of the piece. It’s got me stumped for now.
Going over a complete 787 motor in my head and imagining where the bracket would be mounted to escapes me.
Did this piece come off of a 787 motor?

Yep, it came off an old Region 8 modded 96 XP that was painted in red and yellow and was real rough ski when I got it. Bracket was mounted to front timing cover on front right side kind of above the starter area of the front timing cover.

Sure does sound like it was an external fuel pump bracket from your description of the placement of the bracket.
Even the bolts/screws likely match a thread pitch(M6x1.0) that fit and screw into the carb’s fuel accelerator pump and also without the carb’s accelerator fuel pump installed. Those screws would still fit into those holes either way.
