depending on how hard you ride......you'll never wear out a set of mats with bare feet (at least on a standup)

asics wrestling shoes or slippery comp boots for riding

if your standup still has stock mats, you should inform her that they are dangerous due to how slippery they are. the manufacturers always put bottom of the line pipes/mats/impellers/cdis/etc etc because they know that people are only going to upgrade.

another option is to let the ski sit with the azz down over night and hope a cat comes up and sharpens its nails on it and itll look like azz and youll need new mats.

Put 40 grit sandpaper on the bottom of your riding shoes and you'll need new mats (and footholds) in no time.

Seriously, they can last for years and years. Depends on how hard you ride, and how you define "worn out".

my friend has a brand new 05 SJ, and after riding it a few times and having hydroturf on my own ski.......the oem yamaha pads kinda suck...i kept slipping off! on my hydroturf pads, i stick on pretty damn good. upgrade them soon, footholds will be nice too!

I use DVS wakeskate shoes. You can wear them anywhere and pick them up at any skate shop. Haven't noticed any significant wear on the mats yet and they are a huge help. I'd get shoes before put the new mats on. It'll save you a bunch of money and time and makes a huge difference. I haven't broken any toes since using them.
