1996 Seadoo GTX Im at a loss

So I swapped out the MPEM, not knowing if this one even works. I checked the connections, checked the fuses and still nothing. I have power at the starter solenoid, I can jump the solenoid and the starter will engage. When I press the start/stop switch nothing. I don't have any power going back to the solenoid. No click, no beep, nothing on the gauges either. My head is spinning on where to begin.

Sounds like the little start relay in the front electrical box.

Is there a way to test it?

Yes, it has a fuse. And there should be 2 red wires to it. Those are power in and out. Just hook the ones that go to those to each other instead of that relay.

I tried bypassing the relay and that did not work. By any chance would the "grey box" from a 96 gti work on a 96 gtx?

NO. You DO have the correct DESS lanyard? And have you tested the DESS post?

That is a good question, I have (2) lanyards and (2) DESS posts. I do not know if they work.

Am I correct in thinking that the lanyard is programmed to the DES post? If so can I try a different lanyard and DES from my 96 GTI that I know works?

No the MPEM is programmed to accept the lanyard, it will only accept lanyards that are programmed to it.
Y'all know me, still the same O.G. but I been low-key
hated on by most these &^$$@s with no cheese, no deals and no G's, no wheels and no keys, no boats, no snowmobiles, and no skis, mad at me cause I can finally afford to provide my family with groceries

WWSRD , What would Speed Racer do ?
