    Swearing off....OR NOT?!

I was able to get out on the water on Wednesday....it was a hot mofo. Probably 116 ambient with a tad of wind. BUT, the water temp was PERRRRRRRFFFFFECT! Not too warm yet. So, find a cove, swim for a half an hour and then turn on the blow dryer. hahahah

Every week there is severe droppage - https://apnews.com/article/lake-mead...81ad79aad12ab9

Looks like “Lily” has her own floatation devices! I love how “the girls” are just aching to bust out !

...and you are VERY correct that Vlada hits a HR ! Ahhhh the beautiful people. I don’t remotely qualify.

Do you know what those pvc(?) pipes/conduit do? Their purpose?

Great question Cliff....I really have no idea even though I often look at that platform all the time. I found this VERY INTERESTING engineering article - keep scrolling towards the bottom for cool pics http://www.crc.nv.gov/files.php/news...ews-2010-04-24

It seems like it probably part of the water treatment facility but also there are two "straws" in that immediate area so maybe it helps with dredging....I will ask around...

Find any corpses while you were out on Mead? Seems all the cool kids are doing it these days.
Changes aren't permanent, but change is.

LOL Right? Body #4 found this weekend. I scour the shorelines pretty well when I go out...But, I have still not found any dead "fish". As the water continues to recede at a fast pace, I don't doubt many more will be found. Probably mostly drownings of bodies that never turned up....until NOW. Since the earth is flat and landing on the moon was just a Hollywood project, I don't doubt someone will sell the story that they found Jimmy Hoffa in a barrel buried in sand at Lake Mead.

did the lake fill up at all after all the flooding in Vegas?

    Re: Swearing off....OR NOT?!

I was traveling but I hear that with all that rain official accumulation was barely one inch. UGH. We are supposed to get some more rain this week which is good. But, since we have desert landscaping, the flooding news is sort of misleading. It is not that we got so much rain but, there we only have catch basins and no real foliage to hold on to the water falling. The ONLY way we can hope for Lake Mead to rise is this winter there is a record snow pack AND (and, this will probably never happen) but, to kill the Lake Powell Glenn Canyon dam because there is not enough water to drive the generators.

Hurricane Harvey in 2017 had over 40 inches of rain fall in many areas, with some places getting 60 inches of rain. That's five feet. It's estimated that the rain was enough to fill Lake Mead 1.5 times. Lake Mead holds over 9 trillion gallons of water.

So the answer is no. It's gonna take a LOT more water than what Vegas just experienced to make a dent in it.
