    Is this Engine Done?

Just pulled the top end off of a 1998 GTX Limited and the back end looks like it got smashed by blown piston debris. Is it worth rebuilding the top end or is this engine done from the shredded metal that went who knows where? Everything else seems ok. The sleeve itself isn't even that bad.

Thanks in advance for the help fellas.

Yeah I got that far. The crank looks ok. No metal that I seen. I guess my question now is will this be ok to use performance wise with that chunk of metal missing? Thanks for your reply btw myself.

Chunks of pistons can get wedged in between the rod and case,
and sometimes crack the bottom case half.

Turn the case half upside down inspect the bottom to see if it has
    been disformed by the rod.

Thanks myself and wmazz. I will get some tomorrow after work of those areas. I didn't see anything that stood out damaged but I'm sure you guys have a better idea of what to look for.

    Re: Is this Engine Done?

Wmazz the bottom of the case seems normal. No deformations or cracks.

StuRat that was my first initial thought. But the crank seems fine. Could be wrong.
