Re: ZXI 1100 750 Swap No Spark
Voltages while cranking should be checked on red-to-purple........yellow-to-black........brown-to-brown........and blue-to-green
Let us know.

Re: ZXI 1100 750 Swap No Spark
Sorry had to wait for battery to charge
Red to purple ≈130- 145v
Yellow to Black ≈ 9v
Brown to brown ≈ 8v
Blue to green ≈ .5-.7v
Appreciate everyone’s help.

Re: ZXI 1100 750 Swap No Spark
I need to check my notes but it looks like exciter primary voltage is WAY too high.

Looking forward to your specs.

Kawasaki specified testing ACv for the 750sx with spark plugs in the head,
but the coil wires grounded.
I don't have specs written down for the 1100, but I was expecting:
Red to purple ≈130- 145v (At least 75vac)
Yellow to Black ≈ 9v (not sure, specs for the 750 may have 8 to 12acv)
Blue to green ≈ .5-.7v (greater than that, maybe ~1 to 1.5vac, or 4 to
4.5 vdc using a peak voltage adapter)
Brown to brown ≈ 8v (greater than that, at least 50vac (but brown-brown
only charges the battery))
Do any of the stator coils look over-heated or rusted?
Bill M.
One of these days I would like to record peak dc voltage for
as many watercraft as possible and post it as a reference.

Re: ZXI 1100 750 Swap No Spark
My notes show this for 1100 and early 900
pickup.....grn-blu.....396-594 ohm....1-1.5vac while cranking
Charging.....brn-brn.....0.7-1.1 ohm......around 50vac while cranking
low speed excitor coil.....pur-red.....348-523 ohm........65vac cranking
high sped excitor.......yel-blk.....21.6-32.4 ohm.......5-7vac cranking
late 900 charging coil.......7-9vac cranking

Re: ZXI 1100 750 Swap No Spark
Suppose I’ll try a used oem stator.

One thing for sure is your Bay Area power sports stator will not charge the battery.

She runs, new igniter and oem used stator fired right up. I appreciate everybody’s help.

Re: ZXI 1100 750 Swap No Spark
Well,....another crap aftermarket stator. I just don't know why they can't seem to get it right. Substandard copper? Improper gauge? Improper windings? And the aftermarket companies don't seem to give a damn either!
