One of the benefits of a 62t or 64x cylinder is you dont have to run the girdle head.

I've got a few spare ADA set ups, and I build all my stuff to be 200-210psi avgas setups, so, LOL. I actually did have a 62t cylinder at 180psi crack on me years ago...billet Riva head, no girdles, and a b pipe.

I have seen a couple broken cylinders but luckily haven't broken one yet. Here is a fun one one I had on a 64x cylinder. Bunch of pin holes all over it:

Got the majority of the epoxy sanding done.
Got my shortened couch mounts too.
Busy tonight and most of tomorrow.
We shall see how far I get this weekend.
Really hoping to at least get the test-fit bottom end in and aligned and grab my donor motor from my storage garage to start setting it up. Good chance it will be assembled and going vroom vroom by Sunday the 14th.

Bottom is all now nice and smooth.
This is all function, not form.
I filled in all the gouges, worthy of being addressed, with PC-11, then sanded smooth, and just shot it all with a few coats of some matte finish clear enamel.
This is not a show ski, lol, it will get ridden. I just hope I can ride it

Shortened couch mounts are in, and I used my "test fit" bottom end to do the initial alignment (to a 2mm gap). Yeah, I get that different motors may not align identically, but this is an easy way to get it at least close once the real motor goes in. Will save me time in the long run. Interesting to note that it only needed shims on both right side mounts...none on the left. This allowed me to also use a sharpie to trace out on the left side mounts where the bedplates should wind up...again, at least close, so a good starting point to save me some time while making sure the alignment is as true as possible. Overall, this wasn't terribly different than dealing with an OEM SJ hull...everything wasn't quite as perfectly "square" as OEM, but it was very close and very similar to the Rickters I've had the opportunity to align.
