    787 rotory valve clearance

I have measured .019" clearance between the RV cover and the RV valve. This procedure was done by crushing solder between the cover and the valve. I used a micrometer to measure. Does anyone know if .019" is acceptable? My engine is a rebuilt silver 787 from SBT.

If that was measured WITH the RV in place between the case and the intake......then that is SUPER EXCESSIVE!!

I just can't understand this. Is this wear? Or did SBT machine the case and cover like this.?

Here is the page from the manual showing the procedure to measure the RV gap:

Do you have any pictures of the rotary valve cover? If it has
too much clearance, the RV cover was worn from something like
water ingestion, or it does not show signs of wear and is clean
    with no damage (SBT).

I think the cover is clean. Also the alumimum case side. I would think that there would be wear on these aluminum surfaces before the steel valve would wear. I measured the valve also. .025" Just for more info, the ski is fresh water.IMG_20211022_084304.jpg
