Like I said, the water routing, just from what I could see, basically sucked. Now look at what I couldn't see till I took stuff apart.
How long was that water line gonna last as it rubbed against the sharp corner of the motor shim???

This is the Ultimate Underpadding that will be installed before the waterbox and fuel tank go back in.

    And once you're this far...

    More fun.
Note the hardware used to bolt the b-pipe manifold to the cylinder...the rear bottom bolt is actually an M10. Someone probably broke the OEM M8 bolt and went up a size. It's clean enough, so I will run a tap and then install an M8 helicoil at that spot in the cylinder. Not a big deal.

Never saw Phillips head screws used to secure the temp sensor...so those will get replaced with the correct hardware.

And of course the motor alignment needs help. That gap is more than double what it should be.

I'm not sure what you're complaining about? LOL! Every ski that comes through my shop that has been 'worked on' is that bad or worse!

How did that water routing not burn the hoses up?

    LOLOLOL.
Yeah, this is nothing...every raffle ski I built over the past decade started out way worse. I should have written a book....or maybe I already have

This ski was never really ridden hard, at all, from what I could gather and see here. It was probably never even at WOT.

Re: Just another silly Squarenose re-do

I get people/customers regularly who will say something like, "I built my ski myself, now I just need you to tune it for me...".
This ski is a perfect example of why that just isn't a realistic request 99% of the time, because to actually make the ski correct, I need to start by taking it all back apart to fully grasp the extent of the "tuning" that will be required due to how it was "built".

...and I haven't even pulled the flywheel or opened the ebox on this one yet. Nothing is more fun than trying to "tune" a ski with an ignition that isn't sorted.

Curios to the waterbox. Does the exit tube have a washer in it?

I’ll start another square build thread - I just picked up a 90’ too
