    kawasaki 650 pump questions

Hi, I have a '91 sea couch and a '90 stand up. I have removed impellers and R&R'd the pumps but have never dealt with the bearings/seals in the pumps; always send them to a pro. Want to tackle this myself so have a couple of (possibly stupid ) questions:

There are 2 metal bushings in the seals on either "end" of the series of seals/bearings. When the impeller is on and everything is tight, are they supposed to spin. One of mine(at the tail cone end) is and the pump is making a grinding noise and I don't know if that is the problem or not.

Are there any exploded view pictures of a 650 pump showing all of what is in there seal/bearing wise?

What is the best way to remove the bearings/seals? I was told that a small 90 degree cats claw crow bar might be a good way to get the "top" ones on each end?

    thanks.

Just FYI, you can see the exploded view of any ski part/assembly in the OEM Partsfinder, on the left side of your screen.

I am unfamiliar with the seapoo pumps.
    Easiest way - parts press
If no parts press I just used a 3/8 extension and started smacking the bearing out and when I went to press it back in I found a socket the size of the OD of the bearing and start to lightly tap it back into place.

I have an X2 shop manual PDF that I can send you, should be same process with any of the 650 pumps.

    Re: kawasaki 650 pump questions

thank you. If I'm reading the schematic correctly, there doesn't seem to be a bushing and seal at the tail cone end and I'm pretty sure both my pumps do. The bushing is what is turning when everything is tight, but now I'm confused if the right stuff is installed in there.

Maybe a replacement pump from a different ski.
