    We welded our kayaks constantly, Alabama Steep Creekin breaks boats. I would use another color, heat the new plastic, heat the spot(maybe drill lil holes at ends of crack), and add heat till I can mix the old and new plastic. Worked fantastically. Then Jackson went to cross link plastic, no welding then

    On the mend! Most everything except the end 1/2 of my index finger is looking good. See that odd burnt stripe on the back of my hand? That's directly over a vein, I guess the blood was trying to carry the heat away from that area.

    Dang, sorry to hear this. Things happen soooo quickly and can be devastating. Iím glad your on the mend and should be back to 100% fairly soon.

    Update...tomorrow will be 4 weeks. The first degree burns are all healed and can't even tell where they were. 2nd degree are healed but a little pink looking and still thin, and the index finger (third degree) has some feeling back in it and the burnt blackened skin is starting to come off a little at a time. At least now I can wear mechanics rubber gloves and actually get stuff done. What a pain in the arse this has been!
