Sometimes it just takes a while to prime up.

Hold your hand or put a bag over the carb while cranking the extra vacuum will help pull the fuel through and get it primed

Re: 750ss Xi Return Fuel Line where to connect?!?

Following to to posts above — finally got 750ss xi in the water (and had to be towed) . When I primed it, I get ski to start right away. Yet would only run low rpms until it ran out of gas. When I tried to run over 3 rpms, the ski would bog down quickly. After repeated priming and trying to do what I can to keep the ski running for as long as possible (idling with minor throttle)… I got it to stay on for ~5 min. I got it to run at 3 rpms, but couldn’t get away where near full speed before bogging down. Seems it’s a good thing that it appears to getting “better”, but wondering if a small air leak somewhere preventing the “vacuum”. I used all new gaskets, etc. Recplaced the key fuel line. Maybe need to replace all the fuel and return lines (even though they looked in good condition and not brittle).

Did you ever check the condition of the fuel pickup assembly in the gas tank?
