Re: 550/750 winter cleanup
Alright so I finally got most of the stuff out of the ski. Should be ready to paint and put back together soon. I borrowed some front sponsons from a buddy to copy the shape of so I can make some out of foam and glass them in. One thing I’ve run into is the new head I’m putting on is tapped for dual cooling. Is it worth it for me to tap the pump and run dual cooling or should I just plug one hole on the head? I never had a problem before with single cooling but with everything being apart, now would be the time to set it up, thanks!

This is just after some simple green and acetone. Going to be spraying the whole thing white before I put it back together

Sprayed with white epoxy paint! Super cool and will be easy to clean. Does anyone have some advice on the question I asked about the head tapped for dual cooling?5BC7B4CF-150F-4EB6-BB40-DF64885DD4A4.jpeg

Engine bay looks great.
Dual cooling - id consider closing off one of the ports on the head and instead, run a separate line from the pump directly to the pipe, cooler water will get you a little more low end.
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Thanks! And just to be clear you’re saying to tap the pump for a second cooling line so I’ll have one from the bulkhead into my exhaust manifold and another from the bulkhead into the head pipe? I have a coffmans with three fittings compared to the 2 that were on my last pipe. Do I run two pissers then too?

Yes, tap the pump, run the another line to the pipe. One pisser for the head and one for the pipe.

Somewhat unrelated but I’ve seen vettemans 550/800 has like 3 or 4 pissers? I read through his build but couldn’t find where he added extras and why. I’d also like to see how the waterlines are routed. Would the line to the stinger still be teed?
