If you want it to run anytime the ski is running you need a latching relay I believe the Polaris lr22 relay is used for this purpose it senses AC voltage off of one leg of the stator and will run a 12v device. They used to come in the Polaris bilge pump kits.
Y'all know me, still the same O.G. but I been low-key
hated on by most these &^$$@s with no cheese, no deals and no G's, no wheels and no keys, no boats, no snowmobiles, and no skis, mad at me cause I can finally afford to provide my family with groceries

In theory you could hit the Hot all the time wire, and ground on the starter case and it should work the same as hitting the Battery terminals.
Well I have the rotary switch from blowsion installed and hooked up to the bilge.

I had the bilge wired up to the starter like you talked about. It seems like the large red cable running from the starter to the battery would be hot all the time if it’s hooked directly to the battery? In theory that red cable is just an extension of the positive terminal of the battery no?

Just out of curiosity, why don't people run automatic bilge pumps on Ski's..? There must be a reason I can't think of.
New to stand ups, not new to wrenching on anything with an engine.

I have also wondered the same. The only reason I came up with is the constant movement of the ski would bounce the float switch around and prevent it from functioning as designed. Running it dry may damage the pump. Just my thoughts?

Re: Hooking your bilge straight to the stator?

I have been running one for years, I don't even run a switch , just an inline fuse holder, when I head out I plu the fuse in, when I am finished I take the fuse out, simple and effective and no switch to worry about.

I like it, I was planning to hook up an auto with a switch but was curious why more people don't go that way.. but might go this route, we will see.

Re: Hooking your bilge straight to the stator?

People run the water sensing ones with a float switch and the ones that try to sense the water every 3 minutes or something goofy like that. I just wish Attwood would bring back the V100 pumps. The new body size of theirs is too large and Rules suck..well they don't suck...which is why they suck.
Changes aren't permanent, but change is.
