    wide gaps are needed to ignite lean mixtures with high backpressure, with the D plate the backpressure is gone so is the need for the wide gap plugs

    Update: Installed new Carbon tech reeds and took the ski out yesterday. It now runs like a scalded dog. Thanks everybody for the suggestions.
