    it was meant to say one screen. not spring haha. a sbn44 is a good upgrade, i personally ran dual 38 sbns on mine. i wouldnt hesitate to send your reed engine to newmiller for some port work. but i would wait until the engine needs a rebuild or buy a cylinder that needs a cylinder bore and have the porting done at the same time.

    I also hate to tear down a perfectly running engine too but the 1994 crank seals are always in my mind..

    at the time i had a stock sx reed cylinder and had newmiller port it out. i had him do a freestyle port job. widened the exhaust ports, didnt raise exhaust port timing, and raised the transfers and cleaned up the intake ports. it had great bottom end for a 550 and a full pipe but had a wide power band. i had a pjs viper cylinder before that and it was very light switchy. honestly i think the sx cylinder has max potential with just some port work.

    exactly why i said wait till it needs a rebuild or find another cylinder and cases to build a complete engine haha
