Anyone mix oils in a jar for testing

Anyone try mixing oils in a jar to verify compatibility? We're always worried about oil clumping, so i figured im gonna find out if Pennzoil TCW3, and Seadoo XPS oils are compatible. I will mix and let it sit for a week or 2.... Has anyone else intentionally mixed other brands?

I think it's a myth. I don't even know what I run and mix together in my personal skis. Any parts machine get's 2 stroke oil strained into jugs and I use it. Been doing it for years,.....never had a problem.

OK so after 3 days i dont see any clumping in the oils, i can still see the separation in color between them. In a couple weeks if i still dont see any clumping i will shake the jar to force it to mix, and ill come back with what i find

I'm not sure if I'd rather sit and watch the grass grow or sit and watch paint dry.

Like Myself I’ve never had a problem mixing oil, though I don’t practice it to that extreme Lol.
This is interesting to me though, it’s cool you posted. Pretty certain you spent more time writing your first post than you have during your “experiment“ If not well shame on me...and you!
I don’t think much is going to happen though aside from dye separation, both are Synthetic blends correct? Maybe a synthetic and conventional would yield different results but likely not by much based on synthetics being “blends” to begin with.

Its not a myth nor mystery. If you mix regular oil with castor bean based oil it will gel. Otherwise its fine. That's it.

Been mixing oils for decades. After parting out about 300 sit downs, more than a few came to me with lots of oil in the injection tanks. I siphon/save/mix all of it. Burn a lot of it in my pump gas skis. What I can't burn myself I sell for $5/gallon. Never an issue.
