    Sxi pro bending plug electrodes

Iíve got an sxi pro with a factory pipe I picked up beginning of the year other than the pipe engine seems all stock. Ran fine all year until about 2 weeks ago every couple rides Iíll bend an electrode just on the front cylinder. Seemed to narrow it down last night to only happening when I fall and restart the ski. Used a camera and didnít see an signs of the piston hitting the plug. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Any noise coming from the crank? For the piston to move enough to hit the electrode something would have to be wearing out (like the connecting rod at one end or both.)

    Just my $0.02
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

You may be running real lean. I had an issue where I was lean or timing too hot Either way I believe I was gettin the electrode so hot the compression was bending it Sounds weird I know. Check your piston wash to be safe

Combustion chamber temp is way up on that hole , detonation , pinging , is taken over , time to upgrade your cooling system for starters , the front hole runs the hottest on a kawi due to all the coolant can only leave from one outlet , over front hole , then to pipe , riding on mostly hot or warm water lakes ?

Re: Sxi pro bending plug electrodes

That's what I figured , once you fix the engine , pistons , rings , seals gaskets , then upgrade cooling system from the source , aka pump . You have a pro , so you've got the carb situation solved already , mikunis correct ? You also should have the 1/2 cooling hose through the hull , correct ? So then you have to upgrade all brass from pump to engine , 1/4 pipe 1/2 hose , sea doo fittings , then from the pump to the exhaust manifold is now upgraded with larger cooling lines to deliver 300% more water volume to to engine than stock kawi fittings . Then later move on to to gasket mods and bypass fittings , you will use 1/2 black heater hose for cooling lines , just like sea doos , from the pump to the manifold . Will have to drill and tap pump and manifold to get larger fittings to fit

Hopefully it didn’t mess up the cylinders yet. I would rebuild the carbs and do a leak down test once you get it back together. I remember now. Mine did something similar when I put too much prop in and was running ignition. Detonation from not getting up out of the timing curve
