    js300 starter clutch

my corona project has been putting a 300 back together just for fun. I had the engine all torn apart and put it back together, I was under the impression that the starter clutch would get pressed onto the crank shaft by the rear cover and coupler. When it hit the starter switch the clutch just spun on the crankshaft. Since both the clutch and crank shaft are cut at angles can you press them together? how do you mount the clutch properly, my clymers manual doesn't state what to do.

Did you ever get the starter gear on?
I am running into the same problem. Tried it greased, dry, oil, every time I put it all back together, first bump of the starter spins it off.

Are you still having problems with it?
Horsepower == Speed, RPM != Speed
