    Re: SLow Superjet SN rebuild.

I am NOT cutting out the tray as it has no cracks. The back end is light so I don't believe any foam is waterlogged. Also, when I first started this, I drilled a couple 5/16 holes in the rear and stood this thing on end in my shop for a while......no water ever came out.

BUT.....it had some small holes from foot strap screws. I sanded around them, then countersunk with a 1/2" bit and stuck some epoxy on there. Also started filling in the motor mount voids, because.....why not?

Just started my winter project square and I think I may have gotten lucky too. Super light and no evidence of water

I finished filling in the motor mount voids this evening. Also added another layer to the crack prone area on the pole. Then I burned through the ears doing some more shaping.....no big deal. I went ahead and dug out more foam, and will be packing it full of 'micro-mat'.

    Re: SLow Superjet SN rebuild.

I went ahead and unbolted 'stuff' from the hood to finish sanding. BUT...I didn't get any sanding done. I just couldn't imagine this chintzy plastic hood handle lasting much longer. I can feel it bend in my hand every time I pick it up. So I grabbed some 1/8" plate aluminum and whipped up a new one! I dimpled the backside for grip. It will look great after I polish it out.
