    SN confinement Build

    Hi,

Been here for a while but i rarely post ...
So i think this is a good time to share this build

    Short story :
I've a Fx1 for a decade, tested a lot of pump configuration on it ...

It's was sitting for 6 years on the garage and i ride it the last week end before confinement here.

Years ago a friend gave me an old SN hull, it was laying on my yard since...

I really like slalom and buoy course.

The way my modified FX1 handle is good but i want to have a more stable hull.

    Let's go

Xmetal pole ,Wide Tray, Partial defoam, Midshaft support swap to RN, refoam...

    Re: SN confinement Build

Iv'e found a old Parcel in my garage ...

Picture one is just after gluing the sponsons with some epoxy

Picture 2 after sanding and another pass of epoxy and sanding ...

i've use polyurethane on the back where there is foam and a thick epoxy mix to glue them and make a nice shape with the hull.

Hard to see but after a little check i didn't like the shape of the transition between the right sponson and the hull.

after truing both side i manage to have the correct shape with some epoxy mix and a lot of sanding.

    Re: SN confinement Build

Saw your other thread with the reply from Mtrhead. If your goal is to get closer to the 08+ SJ hull mods / handling, the rear of the ski was also narrowed. I believe this makes the ski roll easier.

    Mods as I'm aware:
    Tubbies
Pump and ride plate set back ~2"
    Rear of hull narrowed
    1985 JS550/800 "Pretty Red": Newmiller 800, Rhaas 750 pump conv. [56.3mph gps]
    2009 1100 SJ:
    Kawi 1100 build in progress
    2009 SJ MINT:
KP steering adaptor, Worx 228 intake, PWR ride plate [47.3mph gps]
    1987 WJ650:
6M6, JD Intake Grate, 17/20, Coffmans Sizzler [48.5mph gps]
1994 XiR: 830cc Superstock, PJS side draft, 13/18 swirl [53.7mph gps]
    1995 SJ MINT:
    Worx 205 intake [42.5mph gps]

    Thanks for you input ,

    Tubbies are on
I ve add inserts on the hull to setback the pump 3" using another wear ring and a B1 shaft.

I will make the chines deeper.

    Hi,

Does anyone have some informations about how handle this kind of hull ?

    Out of my ghetto mold...

It came out good. Some void to fill but the method i've used to glue the chines does that.

For those of you interested by the process.

2 chines homemade in epoxy and glass

Glue with some fast glue just to adjust them with the original chines.

Very light epoxy fill to make a first bond

Some Heavy stuff (epoxy + cut glass) a coat of epoxy fill without glass , 2 thin fiber glass cloth all on one opération.
