    Ultimate barn find

Hi. Looking for a little info or maybe some pics of 2 skis and a motor I purchased. I do know the #1 ski a xir was victor sheldon's, as I found a race card in the ski and slasher stitched on the seat. Looks like it was equipped with a 750 motor. I also have a zxi #200 that I also believe was Victor's but it was equipped with a 1100 motor. Both skis did not have motors in them. The main item I'd like info on is the 1100 powervalve engine. My guess is it was never in either ski, seems #200 ran a regular 1100 exhaust out the back in a water box. The powervalve engine ran the tripple pipes and I dont see how it would have hooked into the water box. Any info or pics would be great.

    Re: Ultimate barn find

Their was definitely some interesting custom work done by kawasaki on the hull, pump, and electrical parts I could find. I may add pics of that stuff since I dont think kawasaki would really care after all these years. Both have carbon bottoms and hood. And dont get on me, the pipes were already cut, looks like they can be welded back pretty easy on the bright side.

Wow very interesting, what an amazing barn find like you said! These hulls are works of art, I have seen similar ones up close before. The carbon work by KHI or whoever did it for them is amazing.

I'm not sure who ran the #200. The #1 with the slasher could very well be Victor Sheldon. Are there any race stickers on the hood IJSBA one? I have no idea how many hulls were made vs those used by their top riders. These do pop up very rarely. The #1 ski would have been raced with a powervalve 2 cyl and a side draft wet or dry pipe. I run a similar shape wet pipe on my xir with a ported 800 and it's amazing. Those 1100 pvs with triple pipes supposedly made like 250hp on race gas. Insane when you figure that engine weighs like 100 lbs. If those really are the matching pipes, and if they all fit together inside that zxi hull, then that is a very nice combination of parts you have there. I'm not aware of anyone else who has a set of those pipes for this cyl.

I have seen the 2 cyl and 3 cyl PV cylinders up close too. That 1100pv is very rare and super cool as well. The issue with these are the PV controllers. Some guys who have these cylinders have decided to weld up the PVs and just run them as straight cylinders. KHI's control system is different from what is used elsewhere. They had their own control box and different mechanical linkages to make it all work.

Please do post up pictures of anything you think is worthy. Of particular interest to me would be the cylinder porting, if you ever pull that off. Case porting too. To my knowledge, race ported 3 cyls have never had pictures on the internet, so what you've got is pretty unique and special there.

Pretty cool find, best old school race find I've seen found in quite some time.
