I replaced the u bolt with Yamah style plate on that end.

Kawasaki cables is what your going to need. You can use Yamaha but you will need to add yamah through hull cables adapters at the pump end.

    Look great on the bottom!

I am working on getting the plates and thru hull's now. Got a couple more coats on the bottom this morning and will be wet sanding later today and tomorrow.

Here is a kiwa, yami and eckler cable. It will be easier to use Kawasaki cables but it's your choice. You can change the throw length by redrillimg where it mounts to the steering arm or and pump end. Further out on the steering end means less throw needed in your cable.

Thanks. I have a Yamaha cable now that seems like it will work. It is a bit long so I will have to loop it somewhere inside.

Finally got three coats of gel on the bottom this weekend. I decided I'm going to leave the roller texture on the gelcoat and just wax it since it is going to see the beach on occasion. Got the rest of the bottom sanded with 400 and 600 and I'm hoping to do 1200 and either 2,000 or polish today.

Thanks for the tip. I was going to go with that type but several people said that they have a tendency to Yellow out much faster than the standard gelcoats. No big deal, it's the bottom of the boat so it's going to catch hell anyways. I plan on making the rest of the boat shiny! Kind of leaning towards some topside paint on the console since it is so contoured. It would take a lot of elbow grease to make the gelcoat shiny again and I can make up my own color scheme.
