HX with 787, front drive shaft boot torn

This is the rubber boot on the driveshaft at the PTO. This is an HX with a 787 motor and its very tight in there. Not sure what to do, is there a "carbon ring" in there or is that only on the rear drive shaft section? You can see where grease spayed out of there, can I just clamp a piece of radiator hose over this with a couple hose clamps and fill with grease? I think I may have got it hot running on trailer, got water in engine after taking on water had to clear it out. Argh. Just got this thing and it had a bunch places water was coming in but I fixed them all. Not sure what to do with this boot, would have to unbolt engine and move forward to get anything over the shaft.

    Put a new one on.

Do it right or do more damage. Jet skis arent cheap or easy.

Thanks grumpy, not totally new to skis but this one was a race ski and I just got it-sorting through a few minor issues. It runs great. A mechanic told me as long as I keep that area gorged with grease I'm good, just looking for 2nd opinions. I bought the boots for it but I want to slit them and slide over the shaft then clamp/seal both ends. I wouldn't try this on the pump side with the water/carbon seal but I think the front/pto boot just holds in grease for a needle bearing.

You cant do that it will come right off & if you use "hose clamps" it will throw the driveshaft out of balance.

Doo it once Doo it right. LOL Anything other than this & your are hacking & it is going F things up.

Welp, for all those in the future that may come across this thread in a search, Grumpy was right. On an HX/XP the PTO part of the driveshaft spins, including the outer bellow boots. Ski was fine for a tank of gas because I filled the zerk up with grease before the ride but it shredded the rubber boot we zip tied around it. The rear driveshaft/carbon boot is different, the boots "float" and dont spin with the driveshaft. Lesson learned but ski made it back with no issues.
