    Re: 2003 Xp di questions

Not sure how to test the air compressor since the line is a weird fitting. Any advice?

Remove line , spin engine over, doe it build pressure on the line or not ?

There is a procedure for checking the pressure to see if its proper or not , if you already have the fuel pressure gauge you will have to reduce the lins size down to that of the air compressor, spin it over and take a reading
Y'all know me, still the same O.G. but I been low-key

    Yeah. It builds pressure.

Ill give that a shot with the fuel pressure tester. Ill let you know what i come up with.

So, it didnt budge the fuel pressure tester. Ill keep trying, but i feel like im jerry rigging it, lol. Ill get my normal compression tester back from my buddy. When i put my finger over the hole, it blows it off every time i crank it, so there is some pressure there. Just not reading on the fuel pressure gauge i have.

If the reed valve is bad, you will get the pressure rise pushing your finger off. Its whether the pressure will hold nearly perfectly when the piston starts its down stroke. You'd need to tie on a gauge.

Depending how handy you are and tools available, you maybe make an adapter to connect to a shop compressor. I ran my fuel rail this way, setting the regulator at 80 psi. You can listen for air leaks/problems easily in the silence without running the engine. If you plug in the key, the fuel pump will run and this time, you would see 107 psi.

    Here are the vids:

Air pressure (which it might not have a good enough seal on the gauge)

    Re: 2003 Xp di questions

On the air pressure, how much hose did your test connection add? It pumps way too slowly, 15 seconds to charge up is not good. You have to get that straightened out first, before evaluating fuel pressure side problems . 70-75 on fuel pressure isn't gonna do it.

To check the reed valve, you might try removing the intake hose to the compressor, cover the intake stub with a thumb. and see if you feel constant suction, or some push back. Vacuum gauge can do the same, less the thumb.

The line was 22 inches from the fitting where it goes into the fuel rail to the gauge.
