    B1 starter bendix

Is the Bendix in the B1 and from a ZXI 1100 ( kawi ) the same? I think I swopped them. I have a serious grinding noise while starting and then a screetch when it starts!
    Thanx in advance.

The picture of the kawasaki zx1 1100 starter Bendix looks the same but if they were you would not be having a problem right? I would take the flywheel cover off and see if you swapped them.

OK, thats what I thought BUT I spoke to a mechanic who is a B1 guru and he reckons the kawi 2 stroke bendix’s are the same. The just never ends with Jetskis!
Also if you check on Ebay they say kawi yami seadoo bendix is one and the same! So I guess its just had better days!

    Yamaha and Kawi can interchange.

I am guessing you either left out a washer, spring, ect OR your Bendix is going bad.

Another though.... Yamaha take a washer on the BACK side. If you swapped them, you may have that extra washer on the back, making it bind....

John, When you say back side, is that the starter side or the cover side? I just did mine and couldn't remember.
