    01 xlt 1200 no juice

Got the xlt out for the year, put battery in it last weekend and ran fine. Next day went out and battery was dead and nothing on the dash or wasn't cranking at all.

Tried a brand new battery, in the electrical box I was able to jump the 2 big red wires on the starter relay and it cranked. So I thought it was the relay. Replaced it today and still nothing.

What else can I look at? The 2 fuses looked good, is there another place for them to be other fuses?

did you reset the security code? Also I have had the ground for the starter switch go bad or get loose on some of these; also corrosion can build up in the switch itself and cause inop starting.

Can't get the dash to do anything? Checked some terminals up under the dash and they were getting power. Checking the starter is a good idea. We replaced it a couple years ago.

not sure if the 01 is the same setup as mine but on my xl1200, if you disconnect the battery or it goes dead, you have to reset the security code before even the guage cluster will show anything. Procedure is to locate blue connector in the harness up front and disconnect it then hold down the "mode" button on the guage cluster. red light comes on...and you are prompted for code. enter new code, light flashes for a while. reconnect blue connector and start ski.

if you are getting a click when trying to start, the relay is probably good and starter motor is frozen up. If no click it may be the relay or the start/stop switch assuming the security code setting is not preventing starting.

Thank you. I'll look at that. We're not getting a click or anything

Check for continuity and voltage in and out of the start button. Check the stop button for continuity and ground
