    95 Raider running rough

My 1100 is running rough once it gets hot.....I think. I'm not sure if it's from getting hot or from hotdogging, that means tight turns and dipping in the water some. I searched the forum and they suggest it's electrical and start with spark plugs, cheap and easy, but didn't suggest what to check if that doesn't work.

A couple of years ago, my 96 RA1100U began to run kind of crappy. Was a bit hard to start sometimes, ran rough sometimes, stumbled to get on plane sometimes. I methodically when through all the stuff: plugs first, checked compression [good], rebuilt the carbs with genuine mikuni kits, checked the spark. no change on any of it the all of the sudden it go worse and died when hot. once cooled down, started again. Finally it turned out to be the CDI failing. Pretty common for 20 year old 1100 triple as the vibration and heat from the front mounting eventually kills them.

Thanks, that's a start because I don't think it feels like any of that other stuff.

I finally found a good used CDI as a new one would have been $550 which is alot for what the ski is worth. It runs right again, just doesn't sound as robust and not as fast; I presume they have settings that can be adjusted for that.
