The Water temp sensor(located next to the jet pump nozzle on the ride plate) measures the temperature of the body of water you are playing in. The Thermo sensor only sends a signal to the MPEM to tell the beeper to sound off alerting you of an engine temp overheat.

So neither of these sensors will send it to limp mode? Or is there even a limp mode function on 99+ 951 carb engines?

Limp home mode is not a function on the early 2 stroke carb'd ski's.

According to the 2002 manual I have pulled up, the RFI models(being injected) have a "Fail-Safe" function and the DI equipped models have a "Limp-Home" mode, respectively.

The schematic you are looking at only applies to the GTX, GSX RFI, and GTX RFI skis equipped with an INFO CENTER gauge.
