What chargers/disconnects are you using for your batteries?

I have two '03 Virages and am sick of pulling the batteries out to charge them at the end of season (Deka EXT-16L). I'm looking to permanently put a charger pigtail across both terminals for use with a tender when out of the water. Here's two of the tenders I'm currently looking at:

    12V 1.1A Tender

    12V 0.75 Tender

I'm also looking to add some kind of quick negative disconnect as the displays are always on when the battery is connected (really dumb). I'm thinking to just put a disconnect key switch in series on the negative terminal using the following with an intermediate jumper wire. Up for other suggestions!

    HELLA Battery Key Switch

    2 AWG Jumper Wire

Remove the negative battery terminal after each ride.

I'm looking for a more efficient way to disconnect the negative lead than unscrewing it from the battery post, which is essentially what I'm currently doing.

I like the Battery Tender Jr. I have 3 of them with various lengths of extensions. I use one on my prerunner, one on my Superjet, and one alternating between the 2 bikes. Both bikes have the pigtail, which makes it nice and easy. Not sure how that'll fit on your Virage, though

Have not used that specific switch. But I install larger ones all the time on heavy equipment. But those are all diesel and not closed up like a jet ski.

The main concern putting that on a jet ski is the spark when you switch it. If there is a constant drain on your batteries, requiring you to install this, then there WILL be a spark in the switch when you reconnect. It will spark when you disconnect also, but that is not the problem since you will have been running the ski, airing it out.

If you leave your ski setting for any length of time, days, weeks, month..... it is possible for gas fumes to build up inside. As you always should before you try to start your ski, you need to be sure you open your ski to air it out before you reconnect the switch

If the switch is not explosion proof, then it is not water proof, it can get moisture in it and corrode inside. If it ever stops working, you may need to switch it off and on a few times to clean the contacts.

DO NOT Charge your battery, with the cables hooked up. Polaris is known for having ignition issues as it is. Charging the battery, while it is hooked up will cook the CDI.
