    XL760 Seized?

Iíve got a Ď99 XL760. I was out on the water earlier today, jet ski ran fine for about two hours. In the middle of riding, I started losing power. Jet ski died, would turn on, idle, but as soon as I gave it gas, itíd die. On about the third time trying to restart it, I heard an odd sound, almost like something rubbing together. It wouldnít even turn over anymore. Iím worried that the oil pump mightíve gone out. Is there any way to test if the engine is seized? Havenít turned on the ski since, donít want to mess anything up more.

I also heard a metallic clinking sound. Almost like something was loose. Any help would be appreciated.

Okay I checked spark plugs and they weren’t fouled or anything. They look fine. I’ll check compression when I get home.

I would pull the plugs and free spin the engine by hand before anything else if you're hearing a clinking sound. I wouldn't crank it with the starter. There may be something bouncing around, like a piston skirt. And cranking and running it will cause a lot more damage.

Compression seems fine. Spark plugs are good. I honestly have no idea what it could be.

How would I go about free spinning the engine by hand?
