    if it is sucking air why was it not sucking air 5 yrs ago. back then it almost jumped out of the hole

    because your clearances were tighter.. measure it with a feeler gauge why guess??

    found this very helpful thread.http://greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=70129 old thread but still relevant. they seem to have tried a lot of things to prevent cylinder failure. after reading it maybe I have so many failures is I always cruise at that 4-5000 rpm range that creates the lean condition. I have ordered jets and will try there instructions. about my cavitation concerns. I got under to remove intake grate and ride plate and found my intake grate very loose. I could push up about a 1/4". removed it and ride plate. someone had been there before and installed a pump seal kit but no sealant. perhaps they did not tighten intake grate. measured impeller to wear ring and it was more than .010 but less than .012 so it was good. anyway added 4200 and a little blue locktite to bolts and reinstalled. while under there looking around it occurred to me that air might be there initially but after first ride it should be all water with no air for cavitation. ????
