Kawasaki Small Pin top end Rebuild

Picked up a 750 motor, needs new crank and top end.

Anyone interested in doing a top end for me? Considered doing the whole SBT motor exchange. Maybe will just do the re-manufactured crank from SBT. I like this offer. Donít have time to do it myself right now.

SBT is the absolute last route I'd go for a rebuild. Look and try to find a clean used OEM crank before going to rebuild it. Any local machine shop could handle boring your cylinder. For new pistons, I believe you can buy OEM oversized or wsm pistons are fine for mostly stock setup

    Agreed. Stay away from SBT.

Chris Newmiller (mcn6 on here) is an excellent choice for us form members here. He's located out of Oregon but offers good prices and always gives you tons of data. Usually when I send stuff his way it's for porting, but he so completely dimensionally checks things over, I have started to send cylinders I need just a bore / hone on too. Extra shipping money is well worth the peace of mind.

+1 on newmiller. He does A+++ work and is very good to work with, has no issues answering questions and is a super cool old fart to talk to. Everytime I talk to him he spends at least an hour talking to me. Hes bored and ported a 550 Reed cylinder, done 2 lightened flywheels, milled several heads and just got a sp750 cylinder In the mail he freestyle ported and bored. Always been up front and honest, does exactly what he says, on time, and the biggest thing is he stands behind his word and work. Something hardly anyone or company does anymore. And he lives clear across the Country from me.

+2 on Newmiller. Rebuilt a 550 pp for me top to bottom, rebuilt the same pp again after the sbt crank exploded (as the above have said, I too would not go the SBT route)...this time with porting the cylinder. I’ve just had him build a 550 reed which includes case and cylinder porting. All top notch work and a great guy to talk to, get pointers from, or pick his brain.
