In reality 50MPH should be your goal, a stock 93 XP which was 80 HP only ran 46-47 MPH, the 93 hulls were only slightly bigger and heavier
Y'all know me, still the same O.G. but I been low-key

Well Ill be honest I have never driven these and was only looking at online "specs" Which said this ski stock back in 89' was 40mph. I have read alot of people saying they where going 50 in a 720 so I figured since I have some LB's on those 720's that maybe I could get close to 60..?? I guess will see, 60mph is steep but I figured I could go 55, who knows. I should be able to finish it up tomorrow and test run it so ill update then

If you could get that thing up past 46-47 it would chine walk so bad it wouldn't be ridable, that is the way all the 93 models were before the recall to put rear sponsons on came out.

Yellow 580 sp just rolled up here too, I'd like to punch it out just cause the pipes are cheap, but my buddy would just want it easy and reliable

Has anyone ever ported a 587. I found some specs online. Or even just clean up the ports. Haven't taken motor fully apart yet

The "secret" to a quick 580/650 is a single 44 carb.

And spinning the Bejessus out of the engine, a 587 only turned 5550 RPMs, 657's and 717's turn 7000, it just makes sense especially with porting, a pipe and big carb that you need to turn RPMs to make power especially on a smaller engine, a 587 will pull really well up top but it will never have the bottom end power of a 657 -717, fortunately the hulls on the older skis were much lighter
