    550/750 pump install help

I'm installing a 750 pump in my 550sx hull with the rhaas conversion kit. I'm wondering how long the process will take and if anyone has instructions/videos on how to install. Any advice or input will help! Thanks

    Re: 550/750 pump install help

The kit will come with instructions. Have a tube of silicon and 3M 5200 fast cure on hand. The pump mounts will need to be cut and have new holes drilled. At a minimum a jigsaw and drill press should be used, The holes need to be drilled dead on to keep everything square. My recommendation is just take your time and plan for it to take the better part of a day or split the job up and focus on the pump one day, and installing the pump shoe and mount the next. There are quite a bit conversions out there that vibrate pretty badly, those are rushed jobs.

Yep just take your time. I would say I spent maybe 20 hours getting it set up right, at most. And that was doing everything perfectly. Cutting the pump by hand based on the template, ect.. Most of the time comes with getting the pump shoe in properly and then aligning the pump. Take your time here. Everything has to be dead nuts perfect. A few of us didn't have enough clearance to run the included gasket. I have tons of detail how I worked around this in my angry cardinal / pretty red 550/750 build thread in the individual builds section. My ski had one of the beta kits.
