    NW Indiana riding?

Hello all I am new to NW Indiana and I am looking for good places to ride. I've heard miller beach is fun but I am not looking forward to how cold that water is this time of year. Also heard about cedar lake and the Kankakee river. Not looking to pay to launch if possible any opinions appreciated!

Miller beach is a great time, the launch is right by the only parking lot there, cedar lake has a public launch at the north end of the lake which is usually packed, but pretty entertaining if your patient, nobody seems to know how to back a trailer up there, or at the Marina on the south side of the lake, usually a little less crowded there, but none the less still busy on weekends, Kankakee you can launch at the des planned conservation area for free, it’s a cool place to ride and the sand bar is pretty fun, and free to launch there
