    New vs Used SuperJet

What would you do - buy a new SJ for $8.8k OTD or a '13 for $5k? I'm leaning towards the '13, I just want to make sure it's reliable and I don't have to put a lot into repairs.

You'll have a ton of fun on either of them. The 13 will probably be really reliable and will run for years to come as long as it was taken care of and you take care of it. Get whichever speaks to you the most, you won't go wrong with either.

I'd buy the 13 for that much of a cash difference, everything is the same except the paint/graphics.

I wouldn't trade 7 years of use and wear and tear for $3,800 so for me it would be the new one. Plus I like the 2019 colors.

I had the same decision to make in January - I went with a brand new 2019 SJ.

Think about that $3800 difference. How many hours was the ski ridden in the roughly six years? 100 hours? That would be $38/hour. If you have the chance to test ride it then you'll know what sort of operating condition the thing is in. Also, chances are the used one comes with exactly the same warranty that the new one has -- none!

I still ride the crap out of my 1990 SuperJet, and it's almost 30 years old. Other than cosmetic stuff is there really that much you have to do to these things? I had mid shaft bearings completely wear out but I've had it for several years and I haven't had a single problem with it, except it getting stolen. I put 4 to 6 hours on it every week in the summer, easily. I can't imagine a 13 SJ having very many problems.

I’d go pre ‘08 if one came up to buy.

At 100 hours most of my 2 strokes were in need of a rebuild. Granted they were piped n ported.
Like I said you wont know until you know. Also will need batter, fuel lines.
