2008 Ultra 250X water in the oil
Hi. I bought a 2008 ultra 250X with a spin crank bearing and water in the oil. I rebuilt he engine and ran it for about 10 minutes when I noticed water in the oil again. I did notice when i tore it down a cracknin the head. I saw a kawa video where the crack I have is ok. Any idea where else water can be getting in? I also inspected the cylinders and don’t see damage.

The intercooler is probably bad pushing water into the motor thru the intake.

Thought of that too. I sealed it all off and pressure tested it. It held pressure. I’m going to make a gasket to replace the head gasket and the exhaust gasket. That way I can pressure test the head and cylinders seperately.

Look for water trails in the intake hose.

After I found the problem I went back on a Facebook forum and saw a reply to my post. This is a common problem for the 250X and 260x. Right between the #2and #3 cylinder.

That is the mounting bolt hole #2 in the torque sequence. It’s between #2-#3 cylinders. The fix for this is replacing the head with a ultra300x cylinder head.
