Taking the SXR1500 back to the dealer today

I know, I know, lots of you tried to tell me...

The SXR1500 isn't the standup I knew so well. I started on a JS550 back in the early 1980s and had quite a few standups since (even had one round nose superjet). The SXR1500 isn't the playful standup I like.

Well, after a couple of seasons I've decided to trade it in on a STX15F. I owned one previously and it is what it is.

So, I guess the standup is a thing of the past for me...

This makes no sense at all. Trading a tug boat for a barge. Huh.
I'm only here to make you mad

I'll tell your girl you said "hi".

why not trade it in on a new superjet or sell it and use the money for a nice SXR800, SXI, JS or whatever. If you look and are patient you can find nice clean examples of all.

Hope you enjoy your new toy! I know a lot of people love the SXR 1500 for many reasons. I was able to spend a couple of days with one on loan from a local dealer.. I found it to be extremely powerful, fast, quick and stable.. However, I could not get past the sheer mass and proportion of the ski. To me it lacked so many qualities that I look for in a stand up ski.

And the dealer is going to bend you over as far as what he values that 'trade' of yours. Why not sell it yourself?

Sorry WFO, I will not date you. I don't swing that way, I guess your ususal "life partners" will have to keep you bent over and happy.

OK, you started it but I'm not going any further with that type of grade school garbage.

I traded the ski in because I don't feel like having to deal with all the jerks. Besides, the standup market is pretty much dead (around here anyway). The dealership gave me a decent deal and I'm in a position in life that I don't have to worry about every dollar, life is too short for that.

I may keep an eye out for a 2 smoke but at 63 years old and having a bad back from a car crash decades ago, I'm starting to realize that I can't do some of the things I did in my younger years. That's why I like wakeskating, not as hard on me.

Just thought I'd add; having bought 7 different kawi standups (550 through 800) and one RN Superjet over the years, using them up, rebuilding one or more times each and using them up again, I've put in LOTS of time on standups.
