    R.I.P Wheelz22 Kevin McGurl

Long time vintage Jet Ski devotee and member Wheelz22 - Kevin McGurl, 61 passed away Dec. 29th 2018. Kevin was a straight shooter with a great sense of humor. Kevin was very passionate about vintage Jet Skis in every aspect – the history, the racing, the community, the life style! - absorbing everything he could and passing it along to the others and the sport by getting more people involved. In doing so Kev kept the sport flourishing in his neck of the woods by helping all. A vintage jet ski purest through and through. In being so, there was no question this thread had to be posted in the vintage section to honor a member so deserving.

I am proud to have known him and honored to have been his friend. He will be missed tremendously by his family and friends, as well as this community and sport that is vintage jet ski addiction. May he RIP knowing he was loved and impacted many peoples lives. I'm sure that well deserved never ending tank of pre-mix is waiting Kev. Goodspeed

    Thank you POM!!

As our go to guy in the vintage game, it is beautiful to read your tribute to wheels.

Kev78's motor will be going into his brother-in-laws 82' come spring time.

I appreciate everyone's help over the years.... RIP wheeler..... "piston port and 2 cycle for breakfast, there may not be time for lunch"

This is how I closed out the banjo fitting thread:

Re: Mikuni BN38 (round body) fuel return banjo fittings

To All PWC users and vintage standup JS guys alike, I am a very dear friend to Kevin "wheels22." We have been building, banging our heads together on diag, and riding/enjoying the sport for what feels like an eternity.

I feel like I owe it to Kevin because he cherished this site (POM prick of Misery, Kev78, and many more stand up dudes) and sport so much to let the community know that he has unexpectedly passed away peacefully in his sleep right around Christmas. He would have been 61 on the 27th of December, but rode vintage 550/650's like he was 17.

Although the pain of losing a true American, an avid vintage JS enthusiast, and a dedicated riding partner, I feel comforted to know he was expanding his technical knowledge about the sport right up until the end. Thank you to all who have ever assisted in helping resolve our troubleshooting efforts since the get.

If anyone takes anything away from this thread, just know that vintage standup JS enthusiasts take pride in the sport, are extremely passionate about helping others, and that it is a sport that Wheelz22 would want to stay strong for our youth. He has been yearning for the day my youngest can get up on a piston port in the Hudson River, but now its my job to keep the legacy alive.

Thank you to the site, the members, and the close friends we made over the years!!

A BRAAP from a stock jetpower and a can of Budweiser would make my friend proud! Lets keep the sport going as best we can. He always kept our ("northern fleet" Hudson River, and our "southern fleet" Navasink and Shrewsbery River into Sandy Hook and or the "cong" the swimming river) machines in tip top shape. And for that I am forever indebted to his legacy.

To end with a quote from the wheeler, "Men Stand, Boys Squat"

    Regards,

    Jared

Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
